SignalCheck is a browser extension that analyzes webpage content to detect AI-generated text and verify domain reputation. This policy explains what data we collect and how we use it.
What We Collect
When you click "Scan Page", SignalCheck collects:
- Page URL — to check domain reputation via Google Safe Browsing
- Page text content — visible text from the current webpage (up to 2,000 characters) for AI content analysis
We do NOT collect: browsing history, personal information, passwords, financial data, or any data from pages you don't explicitly scan.
How We Use It
Collected data is used solely to:
- Analyze text for AI-generated content patterns using Google Gemini
- Check domain reputation against Google Safe Browsing
- Return a trust score to you
Data Storage
- Scan data is stored temporarily on our server for up to 24 hours
- After 24 hours, scan records are automatically deleted
- We do not create user accounts or persistent profiles
Third-Party Services
SignalCheck uses:
- Google Gemini API — for AI content analysis (text is sent to Google's servers)
- Google Safe Browsing API — for domain reputation checks
These services have their own privacy policies. We do not sell or share your data with any other third parties.
Your Control
- The extension only activates when you click "Scan Page"
- You choose which pages to scan
- Uninstalling the extension stops all data collection
